How Far Would You Go To Clear Your Name?
Hi, my name is Edward. This is a picture of me and my daughter at my wedding in 2022. I never thought I would have her in my life, so this picture is truly worth a thousand words.
My high school girlfriend and I conceived her in 2003, when I was 18 and she was 15. In Texas, it's a felony crime for teens who are more than 3 years apart, to have a sexually active consensual relationship. Her mom and I were 3 years and 5 months apart (18 and 15, senior and sophomore). I spent 6 years in prison for it, which nearly destroyed my life.
Now, 22 years later, that past charge was intentionally misused by a Texas prosecutor to wrongfully convict me and enhance my sentence to prison time. As you'll see, the system worked together to suppress me and my testimony. Now, I have turned myself into Ocean County jail in New Jersey, the state I call my home, with my Texas Habeas Corpus about to be filed -- that's a petition to a court about being wrongfully imprisoned. I challenge extradition until the Habeas is heard. If the Texas court agrees with my evidence, I win a new trial. And THIS time, the truth will come out. That's where you come in. With your help --(you don't even have to leave your chair), we can right this wrong.
I fight in peace and prayer to bring to light to the egregious police negligence, the cover-up, and the prosecutor’s underhanded tactics that ensured their victory. I will provide undeniable proof for every claim. You may ask: What charge could be so bad that it haunts me 22 years later? I'm about to tell you. This is my story, and why I am asking you to stand with me.
